Don't worry, it's more of a rant than a blog

This afternoon, when I was at my beloved's house, I had the misfortune of seeing one of the worst films I've ever seen. For all Beatles fans who care, it's Across the Universe, released last year. It was freaking TERRIBLE!! It wouldn't have been as bad for those of you who don't know The Beatles' music very well, but for Ezra and I, we just couldn't stop cringing.

The plot in itself was pretty loose, it was more or less based on the music (and the excuse to squeeze in re-done Beatles songs at every opportunity), but even so, the way the actors sung it was so cheesy, it made it sound like freaking High School Musical! It didn't help that every single character in the bloody film was named after a Beatles song, too, and they just would not stop with the crappy Beatles references either, like when this chick comes in through the window, and introduces herself as Prudence (GAAAAAHH!!!), and another character, Sadie (GAAAAAAAAH!!!!!), asks who she is upon coming in the room, then one of the main characters, Jude (GAAAAAHH!!!), tells Sadie, then adds, "She came in through the bathroom window!" GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was one among way too many, sadly. Fez and I both reckon it about tops the worst movies we've ever seen.

Eventually, Ezra and I were cringing too much, and his Dad just turned to us and said, "If you don't like it, piss off!" so, we did. We didn't even know why we stuck around that long! So yeah, Fez and I dissapeared into his room and watched Sin City.. Muuuch better.
ANYWAY! Enough of me crapping on about bad musicals (which is a genre I can't stand in the first place).. I hope you all have had a lovely Saturday!

I heard such good things about that movie! Glad I read your “review” before I ordered it on DVD!

Well, the people that thought it was good obviously weren’t big Beatles fans! Then again, Ezra’s parents are both fans, and they enjoyed it. Just Ezra and I couldn’t stand the blatantness and absolut non-subtlety of it all.
